Grooming
Hypoallergenic Coats
The so-called 'hypoallergenic' breeds are popular because these dogs don't shed and, as a result, many people who would otherwise be allergic to dogs can comfortably live with them. Not having dog hair on the sofa or in the car is also a big advantage!
The disadvantage - from a convenience and cost point-of-view - is that just because the dog doesn't shed doesn't mean its hair doesn't grow! It does, and often profusely.
The breeds listed below (and a myriad of crossbreds) require professional grooming every six to eight weeks, to keep their coats clean and odor-free.
For people who share their home with Poodles, Doodles, Bichon/Shih Tzu crosses and everything in between, your groomer should become your dog's best friend!
